Perth Glory is delighted to confirm that attacking midfielder Keegan Jelacic has extended his contract with the club to 2025.
The 19-year-old has established himself as one of the ISUZU UTE A-League’s most exciting young talents since arriving in the west last year, making ten starts, opening his senior account with a memorable goal against Western Sydney Wanderers and also contributing two assists.
Head Coach Ruben Zadkovich is therefore thrilled that Jelacic has committed his future to the club.
“Keegan is someone who has gone from strength to strength in our environment and really benefited from the program in place,” he said.
“He is very receptive to being coached and his attitude and application to continually improve has been exceptional which makes him a pleasure to work with for all staff and more importantly, his teammates.
“I’ve got a very, very high opinion of young Keegan and I’m firmly focused and optimistic about helping him reach the very top levels of football.
“He has massive physical capabilities and that, paired with an unbelievable technical ability on the ball, makes him quite clearly one of the brightest young talents in the country in my eyes.
“The scary part is, he has so many areas for improvement and his drive from within to improve is massive.
“It’s my job to continue his development in those areas needed and I take a massive sense of pride in that space.
“He’s an important cog in this rebuilding phase for the team and the club and a huge asset for us to have secured.”
Those sentiments were echoed by Glory’s Head of Recruitment, Andy Keogh.
“Keegan is one of the most promising young talents in the A-League,” he said, “and we are delighted to extend his current, two-year contract as a just reward for his exciting contributions to the team so far this season.
“Our High Performance team have worked tirelessly with him and Ruben and the coaching staff have given him great guidance on what is required to go to the next level.
“Credit to Keegan; he has taken this opportunity with both hands and proved that the NPL has real quality across this country if you look for the right attributes.”
