Long-serving ‘keeper Reddy departs club

Perth Glory can confirm that the club has agreed a mutual parting of the ways with long-serving goalkeeper Liam Reddy.

Reddy joined the club in 2016 and went on to play 154 A-League games in purple, moving him to second on Glory’s all-time A-League appearances list.

Having racked up a career total of 350 A-League games, the 41-year-old A-League foundation player is fifth on the competition’s all-time appearances list and top for clean sheets with 90.

“It’s been a wonderful seven years,” he said.

“I’d like to thank the Members and fans and all the players that I’ve shared a changing room with throughout my Perth Glory career.

“My family has really settled in the West and we’re definitely proud Western Australians now.

“I look forward to being able to spend more time with my family now that I won’t be travelling every second weekend.

“A special thank you goes to Danny Milosevic who I’ve had as a goalkeeping coach for all my seven years at Glory.

“We worked hard, but we always had smiles on our faces and my time at the club was made much more enjoyable by his presence.

“He’s a wonderful goalkeeping coach, but more importantly, a wonderful person.”

Glory CEO Anthony Radich paid tribute to the man who was an ever-present in Glory’s 2018/19 Premiership-winning campaign.

“Liam has served the club and the league with distinction and played a key role in some of Glory’s most memorable moments during his time here in the West,” he said.

“Prominent among those was his unforgettable performance in the 2019 Semi-Final penalty shootout against Adelaide United.

“On behalf of everyone associated with the club, I would like to sincerely thank him for his fantastic service over the years.

“I would also encourage all our Members and fans to head to HBF Park for our game against Adelaide United on April 23rd when there will be an opportunity to show Liam their appreciation of his significant contribution to Perth Glory.”
