It was a night that will live long in the memories of Glory members and fans, young and old alike.
Amidst joyous scenes at HBF Park, the club’s search for its first silverware of the Hyundai A-League era came to an end as the Premiers’ Plate was secured courtesy of a 1-0 win over Newcastle Jets.
Following the success, our players and many famous figures around the country chipped in with their thoughts on the match.
Here’s a selection of those reflections:
From our club
Last night was the highlight of my career so far. It’s never easy to win a trophy and these two have been through the highs and lows every step of the way. Thank you to all the fans for your support. We now move on and focus on winning another trophy #premiers pic.twitter.com/V9cnN89a95

Congrats Tony Sage, Tony Popovic, @tpignata9 and @PerthGloryFC . Long time coming but finally the A-League duck is broken. Thoroughly deserved. Let’s not forget @peterfilopoulos either, who did lot of ground work over previous couple of years after club was almost down and out.
— Ray Gatt (@Gatty54) April 14, 2019
Massive congratulations to @PerthGloryFC. Tony Popovic has set the bar time and time again for professionalism. What he’s driven there is extraordinary – but that’s the level he demands from himself and others. It’s a majestic thing to see an Australian coach do what he has done.
