Football rallies to support those affected by the fire and drought crisis

In response to the country’s current, unprecedented fire and drought crisis, Round 14 and Round 15 of the Hyundai A-League and Round 9 and Round 10 of the Westfield W-League will see the Leagues partnering with Rural Aid to rally the football community together to provide assistance to farmers, firefighters, families and their communities affected.

You can show your support for this initiative at ruralaid.org.au/football.

With the drought expected to continue and as fires rage through NSW and Victoria, as well as parts of Queensland and South Australia, Rural Aid’s support for Australian farmers is needed more than ever.

Provision of fodder (hay), domestic water deliveries and financial support is Rural Aid’s priority so that drought and fire-impacted farmers can feed their livestock, bring essential domestic water to their homes and rebuild that which has been damaged or lost.

Rural Aid is one of Australia’s largest rural charities, well known for the highly successful ‘Buy a Bale’ campaign.

The charity provides fodder (hay), financial assistance, domestic water and counselling to farmers in times of drought, fire or flood.

Other initiatives support its aim to safeguard farming and rural communities and ensure their sustainability both during and after these natural disasters.

Glory members and fans can also show their support at each match, with volunteers set to collect donations to Rural Aid at each match throughout Rounds 14 and 15 of the Hyundai A-League and Rounds 9 and 10 of the Westfield W-League.
