New identity for Australian football revealed

Australian football has today revealed its new identity, with the men’s, women’s and youth leagues brought together under a unified “A-Leagues” banner. Recasting the men’s and women’s elite competitions as partners at the top of the game, the A-Leagues will use football’s position as the country’s most inclusive sport to grow the game for everyone.

Glory partners with global law firm DLA Piper

Perth Glory is proud to announce that it has signed a major partnership agreement with global law firm DLA Piper for the W-League 2021/22 Season. DLA Piper’s logo will feature on the back of the W-League team’s brand new home and away jerseys and across a range of prominent signage at Glory’s home W-League games.

Glory to host Roar in W-League season-opener

Perth Glory will open its W-League 2021/22 campaign by hosting Brisbane Roar on Saturday 4 December (kick-off at 7.05pm, venue TBC). Alex Epakis' side will then play the return fixture against the Queenslanders the following Friday, before welcoming old foes Canberra United to Perth on Saturday 18 December (kick-off at 7.05pm, venue TBC).

Glory’s first six A-League fixtures confirmed

Glory will kick off its A-League 2021/22 campaign by welcoming Adelaide United to HBF Park on Saturday 20 November (kick-off at 7.05pm). The fixture is a repeat of last year's season-opener which produced a thrilling 5-3 win for the men in purple. The clash with the Reds is the first of six fixtures confirmed today by Australian Professional Leagues (APL), with Richard Garcia's men set to head off for an extended road trip during Rounds 2 to 6.

“Operation Cuddles” a great success

Club Advisor Tony Hughes was recently in touch to provide an update regarding Games to Aid Recovery program, "Operation Cuddles". Here's what he had to say: "The program delivered 40 brand new cuddly toys to CARAD (Centre for Asylum Seekers, Refugees and Detainees) at the Perth Head Office this morning. "The cuddly toys will be distributed to families of Asylum Seekers, Refugees and Detainees by CARAD family support workers.

Glory secure comfortable win in Danny Hodgson Benefit Game

Adam Zimarino scored twice and Daniel Stynes also found the net as Glory eased to a 3-0 victory over ECU Joondalup in Tuesday evening's Danny Hodgson Benefit Match at Dorrien Gardens. Head Coach Richard Garcia opted to field a mix of A-League and NPL players during what was Glory's first pre-season outing and there were plenty of promising signs from the men in black on a night when the Perth football community came together to raise money for ECU striker Hodgson who remains in a coma following last month's assault at Perth Train Station.

Under-20s go down in Cup Final shootout

The PGFC Academy Under-20s suffered penalty shootout heartache in Saturday's NPL WA Top Four Cup Final as they were pipped by Bayswater City having fought out a 2-2 draw over 90 minutes. In front of a vociferous crowd at Dorrien Gardens, Chris Coyne's side found themselves trailing 2-0 at the break after the lively Daniel Katz helped himself to a double. But they roared back at the start of the second half, halving the arrears within three minutes as Joel Anasmo teed up Jaylan Pearman who applied the close-range finish.

Glory land exciting US attacker Hintzen

Perth Glory is delighted to confirm that highly-rated American striker Cyera Hintzen has signed on for the W-League 2021/22 Season. The 23-year-old, who is a former USA Under-19 international, spent last season at reigning Icelandic league champions Valur for whom she impressed in both the domestic competition and Champions League. Hintzen previously enjoyed a stellar college career at The University of Texas, being named the Big 12 Conference Offensive Player of the Year in 2018 having scored ten goals and claimed nine assists.

Danish international star bolsters Glory W-League squad

Perth Glory is delighted to confirm that versatile Danish international Mie Leth Jans has signed with the club for the W-League 2021/22 Season. The 27-year-old, who has won 26 caps for her country, can operate equally effectively as a central defender or as a holding midfielder and lists English giants Manchester City among her former clubs. After spending the last three years in the Swedish top-flight, where she claimed a league winners’ medal with Rosengard in 2019, Leth Jans is excited at the prospect of beginning a new chapter in her career at Glory.

Glory all set for Danny Hodgson fundraiser friendly

Glory will play their first public pre-season friendly on Tuesday evening (7pm) when ECU Joondalup will provide the opposition at Dorrien Gardens in what is a fundraising event for Danny Hodgson. Hodgson, an ECU player, remains in a critical but stable condition in hospital having been the victim of a brutal assault at Perth Train Station earlier this month. All proceeds from the game will go to Danny's recovery fund which can be found HERE.
