Brandon O'Neill
6 Midfielder
Having played the bulk of his junior football at ECU Joondalup (now Perth RedStar), O’Neill entered the Glory youth system in 2010 and duly made his A-League debut against Gold Coast United two years later.
After a further 15 senior appearances, he moved on to Sydney FC and immediately became an integral part of the Sky Blues’ midfield.
Over the next five seasons he played more than 100 games and scored eight goals as the New South Wales club won two Championships and two Premierships and lifted the FFA Cup.
His performances for Sydney FC earned him a move to leading K-League side Pohang Steelers and following a year in Korea, he spent a season in the Thai top flight with Buriram United.
O’Neill returned to Australia in 2021 and played ten times during a second spell at Glory before Newcastle Jets became his third A-League club a year later.
In June 2024, the tenacious midfielder re-joined his hometown club on a two-year deal and featured on 17 occasions in his first season back in purple.
At international level, meanwhile, he was capped by Australia at Under-23 level ahead of a Socceroos debut against South Korea in June 2019.
