Another exciting Western Australian talent has been added to Perth Glory’s 2016/17 line-up following the signing of 19-year old midfielder Brandon Wilson.

Born in Botswana and raised in Perth since he was 10, Wilson has spent the past three years in England at Burnley FC, playing in the team’s U-18s and U-21s.

The central midfielder was coached by Glory’s Kenny Lowe at WA’s National Training Centre (NTC) for three years, before joining Burnley in mid-2013.

“I’ve known Brandon for a while. He’s got great potential and has the ability to play in a few areas across the park” Lowe said.

Wilson, who has represented the Young Socceroos, said he was glad to be back among familiar faces.

“Playing in England was a tremendous opportunity to hone my skills, but being back in WA and working under Kenny is what I need to make that next step and hopefully play first team football” he added.

“Being around Jamal (Reiners) and Mitch (Oxborrow) who I’ve grown up with, gives me a great sense of drive to do my bit for the boys in what’s set to be a big year for the club”.

“I’ve known Kenny for many years, he was instrumental in getting me to Burnley and I will never forget what he has done for me. I’m ready to give back to the coach and to this city” Wilson said.

Wilson is the 14th WA born or raised Glory player contracted for the Hyundai A-League 2016/17 season and will be joining his new teammates at training next week.
