In what was his first game in charge, new Head Coach Alen Stajcic saw his side make the best possible start as Taggart opened the scoring via a close-range finish inside the opening two minutes.

The Socceroos striker soon doubled his and Glory’s tally, again finding the net following a goalmouth scramble and he completed his hat-trick midway through the first half by crashing in a fierce shot having been teed up by the lively Stefan Colakovski.

3-0 then became 4-0 just before the break, as this time Salim Khelifi and Luke Ivanovic combined to create the chance for Taggart who again made no mistake.

To their credit, Stirling rallied after the break and forced their way back into the contest through well-taken goals from Alex Tanevski and substitute Yousif Toto.

Stajcic opted to change all ten of his outfield players on the hour-mark and the new-look Glory side managed to have the final word when David Williams rose highest to nod home Trent Ostler’s fine cross in the 90th minute.

Glory will return to pre-season action on Tuesday (5th September) with a visit to Olympic Kingsway.

Kick-off at Kingsway Reserve is at 7.30pm and admission is FREE.
