Stat Attack: Glory v Macarthur FC

The last time we wrote a State Attack piece for this fixture, it ended up being redundant as the fixture was postponed.

So have we simply put our feet up and recycled the original article?

Hell no!

Fresh off the production line at the facts and stats factory, here’s a brand new offering ahead of Wednesday evening’s tussle in Tassie.

Brilliant Bruno

Glory striker Bruno Fornaroli’s scoring record for the club now stands at exactly one goal every two games.

The Uruguayan’s brace against Brisbane means that he has found the net 31 times in 62 ISUZU UTE A-League appearances in purple.

Mixed Bag

Macarthur FC have picked up seven points from their five away games so far this season.

They opened up with back-to-back wins at Sydney FC and Western Sydney Wanderers, but in their three most recent fixtures on the road, they’ve lost to Wellington and Brisbane and drawn with Central Coast.

Mister 100%

Darryl Lachman is the only Glory player to have started all nine of the club’s A-League games this season.

Fellow-defender Aaaron Calver has also featured in, but not started, all nine, as has Antonee Burke-Gilroy, while Bruno Fornaroli, Kosuke Ota and Daniel Stynes have appeared in eight.

Counting Cards

Kosuke Ota has committed the most fouls for Glory this year, with 11, one ahead of Aaron Calver.

Ota is also the club’s most booked player (3), along with Antonee Burke-Gilroy, but overall, Glory have received the joint-fourth-lowest amount of yellow cards in the competition (19) and no reds.

Coming Up Roses!

Lachlan Rose is Macarthur FC’s current top scorer with three goals.

The 22-year-old forward found the net just once in 25 appearances for the Bulls last season, so has already tripled that tally this year.

Shoot, shoot, shoot!

Only Melbourne City and Sydney FC have averaged more shots per game than the Bulls this season (15.45).

And only City have averaged a higher percentage of those shots on target (5.55).

Solitary Scorer

Diego Castro remains the only Glory player ever to have scored against Macarthur FC.

The Spaniard found the net in last season’s 1-1 draw with the Bulls, while the other two meetings between the two sides ended in a 0-0 draw and a 2-0 win for the New South Welshmen.
