Cometh the hour, cometh the Nevs!

When it comes to qualifying as one of our own here at Glory, Scott Neville ticks pretty much all the boxes.

Raised in the city, debuted for the club in 2008 aged just 19, made over 60 appearances in his first spell in purple, featured in the 2012 Grand Final and then returned to the fold at the start of last season.

As a defender, he naturally doesn’t tick quite as many boxes when it comes to goalscoring, at least in terms of quantity.

But what he has established is a track record for is scoring significant, talking-point goals.

In fact, he’s a veritable one-man Hyundai A-League trivia quiz!

Q: Whose first career goal for Glory was an own-goal?
A: S.Neville!
[we think Scott may have secretly erased the footage, but this was Adriano Pellegrino’s reaction after the young defender put through his own net against Gold Coast United in 2009!]

Adriano Pellegrino - despair

Returning to the here and now, the main driver for Glory’s number 23 does, of course, remain to make it third time lucky when it comes to winning a Grand Final and nothing would give him more satisfaction than to do so with his hometown club.

And he wouldn’t turn his nose up at adding to his personal trivia trove by becoming the first Glory player to score an A-League Grand Final winner!
