Eduardo Morgan Del Castillo.
You may not know the name, but if you followed Glory at any stage between the club’s formation in 1996 and around 2013, you will certainly know his work.
Known to all and sundry simply as ‘Eduardo’, Del Castillo was a diminutive figure and amiable character rarely seen without a baseball cap, whose Glory photographs regularly graced the pages of ‘The West Australian’, as well as innumerable club publications.
Unfortunately, he passed away several years ago after a prolonged spell of poor health, but lives on through his extensive back catalogue of pictures, some of which have found their way into the archives here at Glory HQ.
It really is a pictorial treasure trove and after a lengthy and thoroughly enjoyable rummage through, we’ve plucked out two shots to form the basis of today’s Retro Corner.
As always, we’d love to get your memories of Eduardo, along with this game from 2002-03 and if you fancy branching off into a misty-eyed reminisce about Andre Gumprecht and his single, glorious season in purple, feel free!
