As Glory prepare to head across the border for Sunday’s highly-anticipated clash with Adelaide United, we thought another trip to Coopers Stadium was worth revisiting.
The men in purple had played ten away games during the 2016-17 season ahead of their Round 19 visit to the South Australian capital.
And only one of those ten games had ended with all three points coming west.
Surely, therefore, not even the most wildly optimistic Glory fan would have foreseen what was to unfold in front of a stunned crowd of just over 6000.
The tone was set early by Iacopo La Rocca’s needless own-goal and from there, Glory never looked back as Diego Castro (2), Andy Keogh and Adam Taggart all found the net.
So why not sit back and enjoy a five-star performance that we would love to see repeated this weekend?!
