Perth Glory is delighted to confirm that the club’s Men’s team will take on Italian powerhouse AC Milan in an international friendly fixture to be played at HBF Park on Thursday 31 July 2025 (kick-off time and ticketing details TBC).
This game is supported by the WA Government.
One of world football’s most storied clubs, Milan has amassed no fewer than 58 domestic, European and world trophies since its formation in 1899.
In addition to claiming seven European Cup/Champions League titles, they have been crowned Serie A champions on 19 occasions, most recently in 2022.
A galaxy of global stars have represented the Rossoneri over the years, including Marco van Basten, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Ronaldinho, David Beckham, Ruud Gullit, Roberto Baggio, Franco Baresi, Andrea Pirlo, Paolo Maldini and Gianni Rivera.
Their current squad, coached by Sergio Conceicao, includes three French internationals in Youssouf Fofana, Mike Maignan and Theo Hernandez, American winger Christian Pulisic, star Dutch attacking midfielder Tijjani Reijnders and livewire Portuguese winger Rafael Leao.
Milan are no strangers to WA having visited the state in May of last year when they fought out a seven-goal thriller with Serie A rivals Roma at Optus Stadium.
July’s game will mark the first time Glory have faced Italian opposition since taking on Sampdoria back in 1996 and club Owner and Chairman Ross Pelligra believes it will be an unmissable occasion.
“This will be a sell-out, so get your tickets fast!” he said.
“It will make for an excellent display of the amazing football atmosphere and game experience possible when HBF Park is packed to capacity with people watching the world game.”
Those sentiments were echoed by Glory CEO Anthony Radich.
“The announcement of this blockbuster fixture is huge news not just for our Members and fans, but for the entire football community of WA,” he said.
“Milan are one of the biggest clubs in world football, with a pedigree and tradition second to none and it will be fantastic to welcome them to HBF Park.
“We saw from their game against Roma last year that they are a big drawcard here in WA and I expect demand for tickets to be extremely high.
“From a football point of view, we are looking forward to pitting our wits against such high-quality opponents as part of our preparations for the 2025/26 A-League campaign and I know our players will relish the challenge.”
