Perth Glory is delighted to confirm that midfielder Callum Timmins has returned to the club on a three-year deal.
Now 25, the Perth local joined Glory’s junior ranks in 2015, made his A-League debut two years later and went on to chalk up more than 40 first-team appearances before completing a move to Newcastle Jets in 2022.
Since then, he has taken his tally of A-League games past the 100-mark and was a virtual ever-present in the Jets’ engine-room last term, making 23 starts, winning 30 tackles and providing two assists.
He is now relishing the prospect of wearing the famous purple once again.
“I’m very excited to sign at Perth Glory and help them push back up to where they deserve to be,” he said.
“Perth being my home, it’s going to make me work harder than anywhere else as the club holds a special place for me, not only as a player, but as a supporter and I want to see the club succeed.
“Being from Perth and playing for Glory makes me incredibly proud and coming out to play at HBF Park in front of all the Glory Members and fans is something I’ve really missed and wanted to feel again in my career.
“I really do believe we can get this club back on the top where it belongs!”
Glory Football Director Stan Lazaridis believes that Timmins will provide another strong option in central midfield for Head Coach David Zdrilic.
“Callum has developed into a really well-rounded midfielder,” he said.
“He’s got a great engine, has a very good passing range and is strong in the tackle and we feel that he will really complement the other midfielders we have in the squad.
“During his time with the Jets, he’s fully established himself as a regular starter and consistent performer in the A-League and at 25, he’s coming back to us very much in his prime.
“We know that he loves Perth Glory and will be absolutely desperate to help drive the club forward both this coming season and beyond.”
Further squad announcements will be made shortly.
