Perth Glory is delighted to confirm that Carlo Armiento has joined the club.

The 20-year-old forward, who was a free agent after mutually agreeing to cut ties with Adelaide United in December, has signed a contract that runs until the end of the season and will be available for both the Hyundai A-League and AFC Champions League campaigns.

The South Australian joined Adelaide United in 2018 and in addition to representing the Reds on a regular basis in both the Foxtel Youth League and SA National Premier League, made five appearances for the senior team last season.

He is now relishing the prospect of launching the next chapter of his fledgling career in the West.

“I’m really looking forward to playing with the Premiers of Australia,” he said. “Tony Popovic is a very good coach and the boys haven’t lost for a while now, so hopefully I can contribute in whatever way I’m required to.

“Being involved in the AFC Champions League, if selected, is also something very exciting.

“There are a number of Adelaide boys in the Glory squad, like Daniel Margush, Vinnie Lia and Tarek Elrich, so I’m looking forward to getting back out on the track again with them.”

Glory Football Director Jacob Burns feels that Armiento will provide the club with another exciting attacking option in the coming months.

“Carlo is a talented young player that we have been tracking for some time,” he said.

“He’s a versatile, left-footed attacker who is comfortable on the ball and can play on either side of the pitch.

“We’re extremely pleased to have him on board and look forward to seeing him make his mark during what is a crucial time for the club as we strive to balance up the demands of playing in two competitions.”

Armiento will wear the number 25 shirt.
