Perth Glory Football Club is continuing to grow, evolve and set high standards throughout the A League both on and off the field.
Whilst Perth Glory-s first team were enjoying outstanding success in the finals series, the community and development programs achieved record numbers during the Easter holidays.
Community engagement, inclusion, education and individual improvement are central themes coached and encouraged by Perth Glory players, development officers and coaches.
The Soccer Schools and The Glorious Fourz recorded over 500 participants between the community initiatives. Photo galleries are available at www.perthglory.com.au to view all the fun!
Perth Glory players who made appearances over the holidays enhancing the football experience included Josh Risdon, Josh Mitchell, Todd Howarth, Evan Berger, Tommy Amphlett, Jesse Makarounas, Adam Taggart, Brandon O Neill, Ndumba Mackeche, Sam Mitchinson and Lewis Italiano. This huge contingent of first team players allowed each participant to learn about being a professional footballer as well as witnessing demonstrations from their favourite players!
CEO Paul Kelly commented,
“Perth Glory Football Club is a community based club that prides itself on community engagement and interaction with the football family. We are exceptionally proud of the players exploits this season, however, it is just as important that each department at the Football Club is progressing and working to the clubs ultimate vision. We would like every junior footballer in Western Australia to be associated with or touched by Perth Glory in one way or another and our high participation levels are indicative of a club beginning to achieve these objectives.”
Sheryll Ban of Subiaco AFC applauded the Soccer Schools,
“Thanks very much for the soccer school! Both the boys enjoyed it greatly, and I
think anyone who can captivate Zane for two whole days has done an absolutely fantastic job”
Gabe Gooding agreed,
“Thank you for the work that you and the team put into the Soccer School. My daughter Megan says it is the best school holiday fun she has ever had!”
The venues were kindly supplied by Melville City and Subiaco AFC. Both clubs are aligned to Perth Glory through the Club Link Personnel (CLP) and have been very supportive of all community initiatives conducted by Perth Glory. The fantastic support from our sponsors Chicken Treat, Harvey Fresh and our member federations is indicative of the best fan base in the A League.
Community and Development Manager Callum Salmon encouraged all Perth Glory fans to get involved with their A League club,
“Michael and I are very pleased with the participation levels and we feel we have a program to suit any junior footballer. We would like everyone to visit the website www.perthglory.com.au to view all our programs and come join the fun!”
