Perth Glory is delighted to confirm that New Zealand international striker Maggie Jenkins has joined the club’s A-Leagues Women’s squad for the 2026/27 Season.
Now 25, Jenkins was just 16 when she made her debut for the Football Ferns against Thailand in 2017 and went on to represent her country at three World Cups as part of their U-17 and U-20s squads.
At domestic level, meanwhile, she previously played college football in the USA for the University of Central Florida and gained further overseas experience with a spell at Turkish club ALG Spor.
After returning to New Zealand, she was named the 2025 Women’s National League MVP after claiming the Golden Boot with 15 goals in just nine games for CF Wellington United and Glory’s latest recruit continued that form earlier this year by bagging 15 in seven appearances for Auckland United.
Jenkins completed a move across the Tasman to NPLW Victoria side Essendon Royals in May and duly found the net six times in her first four games, with that fine form throughout 2025 and 2026 earning her a recall to the Football Ferns squad for their recent friendlies against Haiti and Morocco.
The prolific striker, who is set to feature for the Auckland FC Invitational XI against Chelsea at Eden Park next weekend, is now relishing the prospect of making her ALW debut in the famous purple.
“I’m really excited to be signing with Perth Glory for the season ahead,” she said.
“After speaking with the coaches, it was clear that this was the right place for me to continue developing and challenge myself in a new environment.
“I can’t wait to get started and meet the team.
“Personally, my goal for the year is to get on the scoresheet as much as possible and do everything I can to help the team win games.”
Glory Football Director Stan Lazaridis believes that Jenkins has the potential to enjoy a stellar debut season for the club.
“Maggie is a talented and determined player and a quality finisher who really deserves an opportunity at this level,” he said.
“She has been an outstanding goalscorer for the past couple of years in particular and I’m confident that she’ll continue banging them in for us.
“We need to improve on our goal return from last year and bringing in Maggie will definitely increase our threat in that final third.
“She’s a mobile, hard-working striker who scores all kinds of goals and I’m sure our Members and fans will enjoy watching her in action.”
