FFA Cup Play-Off Game to take place in Adelaide

Perth Glory can today confirm that the club’s FFA Cup 2021 Final Rounds Play-Off match against Melbourne Victory will take place on Wednesday 24 November at the Marden Sports Complex in Adelaide (kick-off at 5pm WST, 7.30pm Local Time).

The fixture has been moved to a neutral venue as the border restrictions currently in place in WA make it unviable for Victory to travel to Perth.

The winner of the Play-Off clash will will then face Adelaide City in the Round of 32.

Glory CEO Tony Pignata was quick to acknowledge the club’s disappointment at not being able to fulfil the fixture in Perth as originally scheduled.

“Unfortunately the border restrictions currently in place have made it effectively impossible for this game to be played here in WA,” he said.

“Therefore, in order to uphold the integrity of the competition, we have agreed to play against Melbourne Victory on neutral territory in Adelaide.

“This is obviously very disappointing for everyone associated with Perth Glory, but we hope that our Members and fans will understand that the club’s hand has been forced by circumstances beyond its control.”
