Bodnar departs to take up overseas opportunity

Glory defender Luke Bodnar has had his contract terminated by mutual consent in order to take up an opportunity overseas.

The 24-year-old first joined Glory as a teenager and progressed through the ranks of the PGFC Academy before making his senior debut in the 2020 AFC Champions League campaign.

He went on to make 45 Isuzu UTE A-League appearances, 29 of which were starts and scored his maiden ALM goal against Newcastle Jets in February 2023.

“This represents a good outcome for both Luke and the club,” said Glory Football Director Stan Lazaridis.

“Luke has not been getting the game-time that he needs and wants at this stage of his career and that situation was unlikely to change, especially with new players set to be added to the squad in January.

“We worked closely with Luke to help facilitate a move overseas and an exciting opportunity has come up for him as a result of that.

“We would like to thank him for his service to the club and wish him all the very best in the next chapter of his football journey.”

Further squad announcements will be made shortly.
