Naomi Chinnama also claimed her maiden A-League goal, heading the hosts in front midway through the first half, before substitute Chelsie Dawber drew Adelaide level shortly after the hour-mark.
But Hollar swiftly restored Glory’s lead, converting nervelessly from the spot after Megan Wynne had been tripped in the box and the American striker than made the game safe in stoppage time when she headed home Kelli Brown’s corner.
Showing great energy and a steely physical edge right from the start, Stephen Peters’ side deservedly hit the front 24 minutes in when Georgia Cassidy’s flighted free-kick picked out Chinnama charging in at the far post and the defender thumped an unstoppable header past Claudia Jenkins in the Adelaide goal.
The Reds went on to enjoy their best spell of the game early in the second half and were rewarded with a goal for Dawber who blasted a shot beyond Casey Dumont just moments after being introduced from the bench.
Glory mustered a response almost immediately, with Jenkins forced to make a double save to deny Hollar and Grace Johnston before Matilda McNamara hooked the loose ball off the line, but the home side were not be denied for long.
16 minutes from time, Ella Tonkin brought the tireless Wynne down in the box and Hollar calmly picked out the bottom corner of the net to make it 2-1.
Adelaide’s hopes of forcing their way back into the contest for a second time were then dealt a major blow when McNamara was dismissed for pulling back Brown as the Kiwi striker bore down on goal and Glory managed to take full advantage right at the death.
Brown, who was a thorn in the Reds’ side all evening, whipped in a pinpoint corner and Hollar rose highest to head home, sparking wild celebrations among both the home players, staff and supporters alike.
