Chances were at a premium throughout an evenly-contested and physical encounter which featured a combined total of 47 tackles and only five shots on target.
The first ever goalless draw between the two sides took Glory’s points tally for the season to four off the back of their opening-day win at Newcastle Jets and will send them into next weekend’s home clash with Wellington Phoenix in buoyant mood.
Neither side seriously threatened to break the deadlock during a largely forgettable first half which became more of a midfield arm-wrestle as it wore on.
Most of the attacking moments that did unfold took place down Glory’s left where Julia Sardo and Ella Abdul Massih combined to good effect and Claudia Cicco provided a dangerous outlet for the home side with her pace and physicality.
The second half proved to be more eventful than the first, even if neither side was quite able to apply any sustained pressure.
Dall’Oste did well to parry an Adriana Taranto shot three minutes after the restart, before Glory responded at the other end when Baxter Thew was just unable to direct her header from an Emma Tovar free-kick on target.
A volley from the dangerous Chelsie Dawber duly drew another save from Dall’Oste late on and there was still time for Bronte Trew to try her luck from the edge of the box, but the Glory substitute’s effort was straight at Ilona Melegh in the home goal.
And although Adelaide tried to launch a late charge as full-time approached, Stephen Peters’ side held firm to secure a second consecutive clean sheet and maintain their impressive start to the new campaign.
