In what was the club’s final home game of the season, the men in purple made a blistering start, surging out to a two-goal lead inside the opening 20 minutes courtesy Adam Taggart’s clever flick and a deflected effort from Trent Ostler.

The Reds swiftly halved the arrears through Ben Folami and began the second half strongly, but Glory managed to wrest back the initiative and two sublime finishes from Pearman made the points safe, lifting the club off the foot of the table in the process.

Amidst perfect conditions in the West, Glory soon had the home fans off their seats with a well-worked opening goal.

Josh Risdon started the move, sending Nikola Mileusnic streaking away down the right and when he sent in a low cross, Taggart improvised superbly to backheel the ball past Max Vartuli and claim his eighth goal of the campaign.

Glory struck again soon after, this time Pearman shifting the ball on to Ostler whose low shot struck a defender and ricocheted into the bottom corner.

To their credit, the Reds mustered a response almost immediately, Josh Risdon inadvertently sending the ball across the top of his own box while attempting to make a tackle and Folami gleefully slotting past Oli Sail.

United proceeded to enjoy their best spell of the game either side of the break, but were unable to unlock the home defence for a second time and were then punished as Glory struck again midway through the second half.

This time Nicholas Pennington was the architect , sweeping a pinpoint cross-field ball to Pearman who brought it down on the edge of the box, stepped inside his marker and curled a stunning shot home.

And the 18-year-old iced a much-needed home victory ten minutes from time, collecting a pass from substitute Adam Bugarija and calmly beating Vartuli low to the ‘keeper’s left.
