Perth Glory is delighted to confirm that the dates have now been set for the club’s 2022 Academy Trials.
Details of the Trials for the Under-13s (Players born in 2011), Under-14s (Players born in 2010), Under-15s (Players born in 2009) and Under16s (Players born in 2008) can be found by clicking HERE.
The PGFC Academy continues to go from strength to strength, with 2021/22 seeing yet more young players making major advances in their football careers and renowned coach Kenny Lowe making a welcome return to the club as Academy Director.
Trent Ostler, who joined the club as part of the Glory Development Centre at the age of eight, marked his 20th birthday by scoring his first A-League goal against Macarthur FC, while former MUMFC player Andriano Lebib, who was selected for the Under-16s after attending the open trials in 2021, debuted for the Australia Under-16 national team as well and represented the PGFC Academy First Team in the NPL WA.
Academy First Team skipper Chris Donnell was one of no fewer than six Glory players who were invited to attend a Young Socceroos Talent Identification Camp in Canberra earlier this month and another two high-profile success stories came in the form of Josh Rawlins and Alessandro Circati.
The former completed a move to prominent Dutch club FC Utrecht having progressed through the ranks of the Academy, played for Australia at the Under-17s World Cup and made more than 30 A-League appearances in purple, while Circati is now a member of the Parma squad in Italy’s Serie B after rising to prominence with the PGFC Academy First Team in the NPL WA.
Glory’s Elite Player Development model and age-specific curriculum ensures that our Academy players are educated to the highest possible standard and equipped with the tools required to perform at professional level domestically and internationally.
And with the Academy programme now being overseen by one of the most highly-regarded youth development coaches in the country in Kenny Lowe, 2022-23 is shaping up to be our most exciting season yet.
