Perth Glory is delighted to confirm that striker Rola Badawiya has signed a two-year contract with the club.
The 27-year-old is no stranger to the Ninja A-League having previously represented both Sydney FC and Central Coast Mariners, helping the former claim the Premiership/Championship double in 2023 and scoring seven times for the latter during the 2023/24 campaign.
Badawiya has also acquired extensive experience in Europe, turning out for both Italian side AS Roma and most recently, Portuguese top-flight outfit, SC Braga.
She is now relishing the prospect of opening a new chapter in her career with Glory.
“After a year in Europe, I wanted to return to Australia because it truly feels like home and Perth felt like the right place for me to grow and belong,” she said.
“This year at Perth, I want to make strong personal connections with the girls and really enjoy building those relationships on and off the field.
“My goals are to help the team push for Finals and contribute by scoring and assisting as many goals as I can while having fun with all my new teammates.
“I can’t wait to meet all the fans and experience the incredible support behind Perth Glory.
“I’m excited to learn what the club and community are all about and to be a part of it!”
Glory Football Director Stan Lazaridis, meanwhile, believes that Badawiya has the potential to make a major impact in the ALW once again this year.
“Rola is a serious attacking weapon with a proven record in this competition,” he said.
“She’s strong, mobile and quick and offers exactly the kind of firepower that we need in order to mount a serious challenge for the Finals.
“With Rola providing the spearhead for the attacking talent that we already have in the squad, I’m sure that our Members and fans are going to enjoy watching us play this year.”
Further squad announcements will be made shortly.
