No fewer than six Glory players will head to Canberra next week to participate in a Young Socceroos Talent Identification Camp.
Four of the players, Cameron Cook, Chris Donnell, Joseph Forde and Jayden Gorman, have already represented the club at ISUZU UTE A-League level, while Matthew George and Kaelan Majeks have been in impressive form this season NPL WA season for the PGFC Academy First Team.
The six will be among a group of 30 players looking to impress recently-appointed Young Socceroos Head Coach Trevor Morgan and enhance their prospects of inclusion in future Australia Under-23 squads.
The camp, to be held at the Australian Institute of Sport, will run from Monday 8 August through to Thursday 11 August and will feature a talent identification match – streamed live on Football Australia’s My Football YouTube channel – from 1.00pm WST on Wednesday 10 August 2022.
Morgan is excited to see what the group will bring to the table.
“I can’t wait to begin working with the players and staff in Canberra next week,” he said.
“This camp will provide some of our best young, domestically-based players with the opportunity to showcase themselves against their peers in a high-performance environment.
“We encourage coaches and fans both at home and abroad to tune into Wednesday’s live streamed training match.
“We held a similar initiative in Townsville earlier this year as part of an Under 16’s talent identification camp, which was viewed by thousands who took the opportunity to see some of Australia’s leading youth footballers testing themselves against players in their own age group.”
