Experienced centre-back Jackson added to ALM squad

Perth Glory is delighted to confirm that experienced centre-back Lachlan Jackson has signed a two-year deal with the club.

Townsville-born Jackson made his A-League debut for Brisbane Roar in April 2014, but it was at Newcastle Jets where he really established himself at senior level, eventually racking up almost 100 appearances in all competitions across the next six seasons.

The 1.96m defender then enjoyed a lengthy stint in South Korea with Suwon FC, again playing more than 90 games, before returning to Australia to sign for Melbourne Victory in 2024.

He started for Victory in each of their four 2024/25 Finals games and duly took his tally of appearances in navy-and-white to 22 last term.

Now 31, Jackson is now looking forward to helping drive Glory forward over the next two seasons.

“From the moment [Football Director] Stan [Lazaridis] and [Head Coach] Griff [Adam Griffiths] spoke to me, it felt like the right decision,” he said.

“I’m 100% behind Griff’s approach and where he’s taking this team.

“I’m excited to get amongst the fans and be part of a squad with real quality and ambition.

“I’m looking forward to playing for a club that values what I can bring and I will give my all.”

Lazaridis, meanwhile, believes that Jackson is an excellent addition to the squad.

“Lachie is an experienced and physical defender who knows the A-League extremely well,” he said.

“We’d been searching for a left-sided centre back to add depth to our defence and he’d been on our radar for some time.

“Lachie’s a great character with a strong determination to succeed and is a great fit with the style of football Adam Griffiths is looking to play.

“We’re delighted to have secured his services for the next two seasons.”

Further squad announcements will be made shortly.
