Perth Glory returns to PS4 NPLWA action this weekend when it hosts Balcatta SC at Ashfield Arena on Saturday.
Balcatta is coached by former Celtic and Perth Glory midfielder Marc Anthony, who played six games for the Glory between 2008 and 2009.
Glory will be tested with a number of players, including Coach John Gibson away at the Frenz International under 18’s tournament in Malaysia.
Former skipper Jacob Burns and goalkeeping coach Danny Milosevic will assume coaching duties this weekend.
The Glory youngsters were beaten 2-0 by ECU Joondalup last time out, and midfielder Daniel Stynes said missed chances cost them severely.
“It was another disappointing defeat, we did have chances but we weren’t ruthless enough in the final third,” he said.
“We also didn’t stick to our game plan well enough, and in the end they probably deserved the three points; we have learn’t from our mistakes.”
The club called last week’s game against Floreat off, to enable some young players travel to Malaysia. That match has since been res-cheduled for Tuesday June 14th at the E&D Liits Stadium, with an 8pm kick off.
Stynes said last week’s break served the team well and the senior squad will be looking to get back into the winner’s circle.
“It’ll be another very tough game this week, however we go in this game confident and willing. We’ve played really well we just haven’t had that final touch of getting results – so we’re looking forward to it,” he said.
“The team is fine and we’re confident going into this week, the team is predominantly all the older boys apart from me, so it’ll be an experienced side however some young boys will come in which will give them opportunities and will provide us with some youth.”
The match kicks-off at 3pm and entry is free for all Perth Glory FC members.
