Equally comfortable operating as a full-back or in midfield, Perth local Johnston enjoyed a stellar 2023 NPLW WA campaign for the Hyundai NTC where she was a member of the leadership group.

She impressed during her debut season at ALW level, making 14 appearances and claiming an assist in the home win over Adelaide United.

The 21-year-old further enhanced her reputation as one of the most reliable young defenders in the competition by starting 22 games in 2024/25 and went one further in 2025/26 by playing every minute of every game.

Her reward for that remarkable effort came in the form of the club’s Best Young Player of the Year Award.
