The Glory Youth Team will be out to secure their first win of the Foxtel Youth League 2019/20 Season when they host Brisbane Roar at Dorrien Gardens on Sunday (kick-off at 10.30am, admission FREE).
Richard Garcia’s side have been unfortunate not to pick up more than one point from their two most recent games against Melbourne City and Melbourne Victory and attacker Ciaran Bramwell is hopeful that their luck will change when they take on the reigning FYL champions this weekend.
“It was a tough loss to take [against Victory],” he said, “as I feel we dominated the game and also had opportunities to score and get something from the game.
“Brisbane are a very good team and it will be a tough match.
“We are all looking forward to playing back home after two away trips in a row.
“I think all the boys believe we could have got more points from the previous three games and we are all looking to get the three points.”
Sunday’s opponents made a strong start to their title defence by demolishing Melbourne Victory 7-0 in Round One before being held 0-0 by Melbourne City last weekend and they currently sit in second spot on the Conference A table.
Glory did get the better of the Queenslanders in last season’s corresponding fixture, however, Jaidon Selden and Abias Bukuru scoring in a 2-1 victory.
Following Sunday’s game, the youngsters have a bye before hosting Melbourne Victory on Sunday 22 December (kick-off at 10.30am).
