The PGFC Academy Under-13s and Under-14s have made a promising start to their respective campaigns at the FFA National Youth Championships in Coffs Harbour.

Heading into Day Two [Tuesday] the Under-14s are top of their group having won both of their opening two games, while the younger age group are also still very much in the mix after recording a win and a narrow defeat on Day One.

The Under-13s raced out to a 2-0 lead over a strong Football NSW side in their first fixture, Cueva and Manariyo with the goals, but were eventually edged out 3-2.

They rebounded in style during their second game, however, Morrison bagging a hat-trick and MacDougall, Cueva, Kelly and Pearman also finding the net in a 7-0 thumping of the Northern Territory.

The Under-14s, meanwhile, also enjoyed a big win over the NT, Nyagwaya, Hobson (2) and Zikovic with the goals in a 4-0 scoreline and later in the day, efforts from Rawlins and Hobson secured an impressive 2-0 victory over Football NSW.

Next up for both age groups is a clash with Queensland Metro and we’ll keep you fully up to date with their progress.
