Glory’s Westfield W-League fixture against Melbourne City this weekend has been switched from Saturday to Sunday in response to the high temperatures forecast across Victoria.
The clash with the reigning champions, which was previously scheduled to be played at AAMI Park on Saturday, will now be played at City Football Academy in Bundoora on Sunday, with a new kick-off time of 4.30pm.
“Changes to Hyundai A-League, Westfield W-League, and FOXTEL Y-League scheduling have been made with the interests of the players and match officials, as well as supporters and club staff in mind,” explained Head of Hyundai A-League & Westfield W-League, Greg O’Rourke.
“The safety and comfort of players, as well as those working at or attending FFA sanctioned matches, is of paramount importance to FFA.”
Bobby Despotovski’s side will be aiming to do the double over City after crushing them 4-1 at nib Stadium in Round One.
The race for the Premiership is delicately poised with the top five teams separated by just five points.
