Westfield FFA Cup 2015 Final venue options confirmed

Westfield FFA Cup 2015 Final venue options confirmed

Football Federation Australia (FFA) has today confirmed the Westfield FFA Cup 2015 Final will be held at either AAMI Park in Melbourne or Perth’s nib Stadium on Saturday 7 November 2015, depending on the result of tomorrow night’s Semi Final between Hume City and Melbourne Victory at AAMI Park.

If Melbourne Victory defeat Hume City, the Westfield FFA Cup 2015 Final will be held at AAMI Park (kick-off 7.30pm AEDT).

A Hume City win in the Semi Final will see the PlayStation 4 NPL Victoria club head west to face Perth Glory in the Westfield FFA Cup showpiece event at nib Stadium, which would kick off at 4.30pm (7.30pm AEDT).

The two scenarios for the Westfield FFA Cup 2015 Final have been determined following discussions with all relevant stadia and in line with FFA’s key objective of allowing as many Australian sports fans as possible to attend the final or watch the match on FOX SPORTS.

FFA has made the early announcement to allow tickets to go on sale on Thursday morning, giving supporters of the two clubs in the Final the best opportunity to secure their tickets for what has already become a landmark event on the Australian sporting calendar.

“The Westfield FFA Cup Final is looming as another landmark day for Australian Football and FFA has made a decision to announce two possibilities to give fans of the two competing teams clarity about the venue as soon as the final whistle blows on Wednesday night,” said Head of the Hyundai A-League Damien de Bohun. “We have considered all relevant stadiums in Perth and Melbourne and believe we have arrived at a decision that satisfies the criteria of allowing as many people to watch the game either in stadium or on FOX SPORTS.

“The tight turn around between the second semi final and the Westfield FFA Cup 2015 Final means we have to put tickets on sale the morning after the match to give Members and fans of the two clubs the ability to plan for what will be another tremendous spectacle.”

Ticketing details regarding the Westfield FFA Cup 2015 Final will be announced at the completion of the second Semi Final.

Tomorrow night’s second Semi Final between Hume City and Melbourne Victory at AAMI Park kicks off at 7.30pm AEDT and will be LIVE and exclusive on FOX SPORTS 505.

Perth Glory became the first club into the Westfield FFA Cup 2015 Final after defeating Melbourne City FC 3-1 last Wednesday night.
