Perth Glory is delighted to confirm that versatile and experienced defender Julia Sardo has returned to the club for a second spell in purple.
Now 30, Sardo made six appearances for Glory during the 2019/20 ALW campaign before completing a move to Melbourne City and then spending a further three seasons with Western United.
During her time with United, she took her tally of ALW games past the 50-mark and helped the club reach the Grand Final in 2023.
Having made 17 starts last term, Sardo is now determined to make a similarly strong contribution for Glory.
“Coming back to Perth honestly feels like a full-circle moment since it’s where I made my debut,” she said.
“I just want to bring my experience over the years and give back to the club that gave me my start.
“Hopefully we can go all the way in the ALW this season!”
Glory Football Director Stan Lazaridis, meanwhile, believes that Sardo is an excellent addition to the squad.
“Julia is an experienced and versatile defender who has a great engine and knows what’s required in terms of securing Finals football,” he said.
“She is also familiar with the club from her previous spell here and we’re really pleased to welcome her back.
“We’re happy with the defensive depth we now have in our ALW squad and are looking forward to what we are confident will be a successful season.”
Further squad announcements will be made shortly.
