Vastly-experienced Socceroos midfielder joins Glory on loan

Perth Glory is delighted to announce that vastly-experienced Socceroos midfielder Oliver Bozanic has joined the club from Western Sydney Wanderers on a loan deal which runs until January 2024.

Having chalked up almost 200 A-League appearances, Glory’s new recruit has been one of the competition’s top performer since debuting for Central Coast Mariners in 2010.

In between successful spells in England, Switzerland, Japan and Scotland, he represented Melbourne City and Melbourne Victory, as well as the Mariners and Western Sydney, collecting Championship, Premiership and Australia Cup winners’ medals along the way.

Last season, the seven-times-capped Socceroo scored three goals in ten starts for Wanderers and he is now keen to embrace a new challenge here in the West.

“I’m looking forward to getting started and meeting up with the team,” he said.

“I’ve heard a lot of great things about them.

“I’m very happy to work with Staj [Head Coach Alen Stajcic] and Naz [Assistant Head Coach Nahuel Arrarte] again following our time at the Mariners.

“Joining Perth is fantastic.

“I believe it’s a great opportunity for us as a team to unite the fans and create something special this season.”

Stajcic is similarly looking forward to coaching Bozanic once again.

“Oli is a tremendous addition to our squad,” he said.

“Having worked with him before, I know that he brings not only a wealth of experience, but outstanding leadership qualities.

“His humility, drive for excellence and winning mentality are infectious and will be a great boost to our entire squad.”
