Perth Glory have released Bas van den Brink from the final three months of his contract.

Perth Glory have released Bas van den Brink from the final three months of his contract.

At the request of the defender, Perth Glory agreed to mutually terminate his contract so that van den Brink can explore other opportunities.

“We-d like to thank Bas for his services to Perth Glory,” coach Ian Ferguson said.

“Once again, it-s an opportunity for a player to move overseas and unfortunately we cannot compete dollar for dollar with these clubs.

“It was not an easy decision but it-s something we spoke about as a club, and decided Bas can move on.”

Since joining Perth Glory in 2011, van den Brink played 42 games and scored 1 goal.

“I really enjoyed my time here in Perth,” van den Brink said.

“We had great success with the team reaching the Grand Final and I made a lot of friends.

“I am going to miss Perth but I feel I had to go, and I-m really looking forward to a new challenge in my career.”

Perth Glory wishes van den Brink all the best in the future.
