The milestones keep rolling for record-breaker Reddy

Another Glory game, another Glory A-League milestone for Liam Reddy.

Subject to selection, Saturday’s away clash with Melbourne City will see the vastly-experienced goalkeeper make his 150th A-League appearances for the club, becoming just the second man in Glory history to reach that figure.

Andy Keogh is the one player who remains in front of Reddy, but requiring just seven more appearances to overhaul the club’s current Head of Recruitment, it is surely only a matter of time before the shot-stopper secures yet another record.

With Nikolai Topor-Stanley, Leigh Broxham and Alex Wilkinson also still playing, it seems unlikely that the man who joined Glory in 2016 will claim the outright all-time A-League appearances record, but he is comfortably the highest-placed goalkeeper on that list with 345.

His 90 clean sheets is another A-League record which is only likely to be threatened any time soon by one of his Glory predecessors, Danny Vukovic.

Then there’s the fact that the Sydneysider is one of just eight players to have played more than 400 national league games across the NSL and A-League.

It is genuinely difficult to imagine the A-League without Reddy who has chalked up more than 31,000 onfield minutes since debuting for Newcastle Jets in Round One of the competition’s 2005-06 inaugural season.

And long may it stay that way.
