PGFC Academy Latest: Ten-man First Team defeated, but 18s and 20s continue winning streaks

The PGFC Academy First Team suffered a heavy home defeat in the NPL WA on Saturday, eventually going down 6-1 to Inglewood United after losing Tadiwanashe Kuzamba to a first-half red card.

The youngsters were already trailing to a scrambled goal from Matthew Ntoumenopoulos when, seven minutes before the break, Kuzamba was adjudged to have hauled down Yamamoto Kotaro and as last man, was dismissed.

The visitors captialised immediately, with Brad Vlachy curling in the resulting free-kick before Chad Nilson and Jordan Brown also found the net to make it 4-0 at the break.

Glory did manage to pull one back on the hour-mark, substitute Joel Anasmo rattling home the loose ball after a stinging effort from Jaylan Pearman had cannoned back out off the post.

That was as good as it got for Glory, however, with Inglewood substitutes Thomas Abraham and Rene Kisesa adding late goals to blow the scoreline out.

Ahead of the First Team game, meanwhile, the Under-18s and Under-20s continued their impressive form by both securing maximum points.

Tyler Nyabinde’s first-half effort and a 75th-minute penalty from Max Naylor helped the 18s to a 2-1 victory, while Santiago Flores grabbed a hat-trick and Louis Sollitt, Max Uvarov and Ruben Argent also found the net as the 20s romped home 6-0.

All three teams will return to NPL WA action on Saturday (22nd June) with a visit to E&D Litis Stadium to take on Floreat Athena.

Kick-off for the 18s is at 11am, followed by the 20s at 1pm and the First Team at 3pm.

Do get along and support the lads if you can.
