Teenage defender Murray joins Glory ALW squad

Perth Glory is delighted to confirm that combative defender Chloe Murray has joined the club’s Ninja A-League squad on a scholarship contract.

The 19-year-old centre-back is a Queensland Academy of Sport product who previously represented Australia at schoolgirls level and was a train-on player with Brisbane Roar last season.

A former Buderim junior, Murray has also played for Brisbane City and Glory Football Director Stan Lazaridis believes that she will provide another strong defensive option for Head Coach Stephen Peters.

“Chloe is a really promising defender and we’re very pleased to have her on board,” he said.

“She’s powerful, fast, really loves a tackle and Stephen [Peters] knows what she’s capable of having previously coached her.

“Chloe’s arrival provides us with extra depth at centre-back and we’re looking forward to seeing her develop, learn from our senior players and push for game-time as the season goes on.”
