Homegrown talents Adam Taggart and Hana Lowry took out the respective Men’s and Women’s Most Glorious Player Awards at the club’s annual end-of-season event which took place at Perth’s State Theatre on Monday evening.
The MGP capped off a remarkable evening for club skipper Taggart who also claimed the Members’ Player of the Season, Players’ Player of the Season and Golden Boot Awards.
21-year-old Lowry, meanwhile, replaced Sam Kerr as the youngest player ever to win the Women’s MGP as she continued her development into one of the Liberty A-League’s most influential midfielders.
Fellow-West Australian Morgan Aquino also enjoyed a night to remember, visiting the stage on two occasions to collect the Members’ Player and Players’ Player of the Year Awards.
The other ALW winners were 18-year-old local midfielder Georgia Cassidy, whose impressive displays in her maiden senior campaign earned her the Women’s Best Youth Player of the Season Award, Millie Farrow, who claimed the Golden Boot and Isobel Dalton, whose stunning strike against Canberra United at Macedonia Park was named Goal of the Season.
Tributes were also paid to long-serving Glory skipper Natasha Rigby who announced her retirement from professional football last week.
The remaining Men’s honours were collected by rising young star Daniel Bennie, who was named Under-23 Player of the Season and Stefan Colakovski, whose fine run and finish against Central Coast Mariners in Round 10 earned him the Goal of the Season Award.
