This week seems to be going faster than a four-pack of double-quilted off a supermarket shelf!
Unbelievably, it’s Wednesday already and that means it’s time for our weekly trip to the stat-os-phere…
Touchy Subject
Glory have averaged 27 touches inside the opposition box per game this season, the second-highest in the competition and three more per game than Sydney FC.
Diego Denied
Sydney FC are the only club in the Hyundai A-League that Diego Castro has failed to score or claim an assist against.
The Spaniard’s favourite opponents, in contrast, are Newcastle Jets (eight goals in 13 appearances).
Home Comforts
Sydney FC have won nine of their last ten games at Netsrata Jubilee Stadium and also claimed all three points in each of their last six home meetings with Glory.
Hat-trick Hero
Billy Celeski remains the only Glory player to have ever scored an A-League hat-trick against Sydney FC.
The midfielder bagged his treble during a 4-1 win at the Sydney Football Stadium in December 2007.
Ratio Rise
Glory Head Coach Tony Popovic has recorded a win ratio of 56.25% over the course of his 48 Hyundai A-League games in charge of the WA club.
During his 142 games with Western Sydney Wanderers, he averaged 40.85%.
Pass Masters
Glory duo Neil Kilkenny and Diego Castro occupy second and third spot across the competition for passes in the opposition half this season, with 754 and 687 respectively.
Sydney FC’s best performer in this category is Luke Brattan with 611.
Le Goal
Sky Blues striker Adam le Fondre is currently leading the race for this season’s Golden Boot having found the net 16 times.
Overall, the Englishman has scored 34 goals in 47 Hyundai A-League appearances for Sydney FC.
Happy Travellers
Glory have not lost consecutive away games since December 2017.
In fact, since Tony Popovic took charge at the start of the 2018/19 season, the men in purple have been defeated in just three of their 23 games on the road.
