South American flair for Glory Youth

Argentinean midfielder Adrian Trinidad will line-up for Perth’s Youth Team this weekend as he takes his first step back from an ankle injury that kept him out of Glory’s A-League win against Melbourne last Sunday.

Argentinean midfielder Adrian Trinidad will line-up for Perth-s Youth Team this weekend as he takes his first step back from an ankle injury that kept him out of Glory-s A-League win against Melbourne last Sunday.

Trinidad has been troubled by the injury after rolling his ankle late in the match against Central Coast on New Years Eve and has trained lightly since. Not yet ready for the rigours of senior action, he will instead make his way back through the youth competition.

His inclusion has come at a handy time for Glory Youth Coach Gareth Naven who has six of his squad missing through a mixture of injury, suspension, national team duty and promotion to the senior squad.

Scott Neville and Andrija Jukic will take their development another step with further Hyundai A-League time while Liam Harvey, Dejan Aleksic are part of the Australian team playing in the Olympic Youth Festival in Sydney.

“The purpose of the Youth team competition is to help these players develop and to have two boys make the grade in the senior squad is terrific,” said Naven.

“For Liam and Dejan to have an opportunity to play against some of the best young players from China, Chile and the USA in the Olympic festival will be a great experience for them and we wish them all the best in that competition.”

Saturday-s clash will be the first visit to Newcastle for Glory-s Youth team and they will be hoping to repeat their 2-1 win against the Jets at Members Equity Stadium in round seven where Reece Vittiglia and Anthony Skorich were on target.
