Striker Rosie Sutton will wear Perth Glory’s purple once again after re-joining the club for the upcoming Westfield W-League season.

The 26-year old forward last played for Perth two years ago, before heading to Iceland and then to Adelaide United, where she scored five goals for the Reds last season.

The pacey attacker is regarded as a nightmare for opposition defenders with her ability to score frequently, making her one of the most dangerous forwards in the competition.

“I’m excited to be back in Perth. I love this city and have many friends here so it’s really good to be back” she said.

“The goal this season is to earn a top four finish and play finals. That’s every side’s goal. That’s why we play the game” she added.

Sutton is one of many familiar faces returning to coach Bobby Despotovski’s squad.

Last year’s Vice-Captain Kim Carroll who’s been capped 54 times for the Matildas, and brought her vast wealth of experience to the club last season, has also re-signed.

American Nikki Stanton, who played her inaugural W-League season at Glory, after playing for Sky Blues FC in the United States with Perth captain Samantha Kerr, will also be heading back for another stint in WA. She’s due to arrive mid-October.

Sutton and Carroll in the meantime will join their fellow Glory teammates tomorrow night as they take on the WA State Team in the Challenge Cup at Inglewood Stadium in a pre-season friendly.

Sutton said she was keen to get onto the pitch as soon as possible.

“I’m very excited to play. It’s good for everyone to get some match fitness and for those who want to try and cement a spot or break into the side. It will be good for myself personally too as I know quite a few players from the state team so it gives me an extra incentive to give a good performance and get a win.”

Kick-off is at 7pm.

Meantime, the Westfield W-League season for Perth Glory kicks off on November 6 against the Western Sydney Wanderers at nib Stadium.
