Rising stars sign scholarship contracts

Perth Glory is delighted to confirm that exciting young talents Daniel Bennie and Jaylan Pearman have both signed scholarship contracts with the club.

17-year-old forward Bennie was in fine form for the PGFC Academy First Team in the first part of the NPL WA season before heading to the AFC Under-17 Asian Cup where he was a standout performer for the Joeys.

Also 17, attacking midfielder Pearman is another Australia Under-17 representative who helped drive the PGFC Academy Under-20s to the NPL WA title last season and has shone for the First Team this term.

Glory Head of Recruitment, Andy Keogh, believes that the duo have bright futures ahead of them.

“Both players have massive potential,” he said, “and we have very high hopes that they can play A-League minutes this season.

“We are delighted to integrate them into full-time roles.”

For Glory CEO Anthony Radich, meanwhile, the teenagers provide another clear illustration of the huge strides being made the club’s Academy.

“Daniel and Jaylan are two outstanding young West Australian talents and we are extremely excited to see how they continue to develop,” he said.

“The PGFC Academy’s track record for bringing players through is incredibly impressive and there are a host of other youngsters lining up to follow in Daniel and Jaylan’s footsteps.

“We are committed to giving young WA players the chance to represent their home-state club and look forward to seeing many more donning the famous purple in the future.”
