The PGFC Academy senior teams were involved in a dramatic final day of the regular NPL WA season at E&D Litis Stadium on Saturday.
Taking on Perth SC in fixtures switched from Dorrien Gardens, the Under-18s came up short in their effort to pip their opponents to the title, going down 4-0, but there was joy for the Under-20s who celebrated their first place finish with a thrilling 6-4 victory.
Maxim Uvarov led the way by helping himself to a hat-trick, with Louis Soillitt grabbing two goals and Alfie Knight rounding out the scoring.
There were not as many goals in the First Team game, but there was still plenty of drama as Seb Despotovski saw two penalties saved by Perth SC goalkeeper Rocco Liberti before finding the net early in the second half to cancel out Abdul Osman’s second-minute free-kick and secure a 1-1 draw.
The First Team will now face Mandurah City over two legs in the inter-divisional play-offs which begin in a fortnight’s time.
