Saturday’s torrential rain may have scuppered the PGFC Academy’s First Team and Under-20s fixtures against Stirling Macedonia at Macedonia Park, but the Under-18s managed to bag three points before the weather truly set in.
The youngsters bounced back from last week’s reverse at Perth RedStar in fine style, eventually running out 6-2 winners with Ollie Evans (2), Lucas Mura, Will Hocking, Hudson Byrne and Henri Knight supplying the goals.
The Under-20s, meanwhile, were leading 1-0 late in the first half when the referee deemed the pitch unplayable and the game was abandoned.
The rearranged Under-20s fixture will now take place on Tuesday (20th August) at 6pm, followed by the First Team game at 8pm.
These games will, unfortunately, clash with Glory’s pre-season friendly against Sorrento FC at Percy Doyle Reserve on the same night.
All three Academy teams will then visit Western Knights on Saturday, with the 18s getting the action underway at Nash Field at 11am, followed by the 20s at 1pm and the First Team at 3pm.
And finally, congratulations to PGFC Academy forward Max Naylor who scored twice for the Joeys in Monday’s 4-1 win over the Solomon Islands U19s in Honiara.
