Perth Glory Football Club is inviting supporters to secure their place in history by signing up to become Foundation Members for its new look Women’s team.
The team will enter its first season under the same banner as the Hyundai A-League and Foxtel National Youth League teams when the Westfield W-League begins on October 17.
Perth Glory is giving fans the opportunity to get behind the Women this season as foundation members, an opportunity only available for the 2015/16 Westfield W-League season.
Starting from $40, Foundation Members will secure free entry to every Perth Glory Women’s home game, priority access to finals tickets, a Perth Glory FC membership pack, members first club updates and a place as a historic Foundation Member.
The new-look Perth Glory Women’s team will be coached by club legend, Bobby Despotovski and ex-Glory Captain and Matilda’s star, Collette McCallum.
Despotovski said he always adored the Perth Glory fans as a player and is hoping the relationship will continue in his first season as coach.
“The members and fans at this club have always been great, but for me it would really take it to another level if they get behind the Women’s team this season”, he said.
“No matter if you’re a new football fan, or someone that has followed this beautiful game their whole life, the opportunity to get behind this talented group of women is too good to miss.”
The club has been buoyed by the signings of Matilda’s Caitlin Foord and Kim Carroll as well as talented local product and Matilda, Sam Kerr.
The 21- year old, who was in the Matildas 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup squad, said she was excited to get back to Perth and play in front of a home crowd.
“I really enjoyed last year’s record breaking season but there’s nothing like pulling on the jersey and play for your own home town. There’s a great sense of pride that comes with it.”
