Glory-s amazing season continues! Can Gold Coast United stop Glory from marching on? Will Robbie Fowler strike again…?

There-s a real feeling of momentum about Perth right now. Backed by a big and vocal crowd at nib Stadium last week, Glory returned to the top of the ladder with a hard-fought victory over Wellington.

Now, with their second home game in a row, The Shed are sure to be in the strong voice we have come to expect from them as they see an opportunity for three more points against winless Gold Coast United.

In aiming for their eighth undefeated match in a row, Glory will be looking to create the longest streak without losing since Melbourne went for eight unbeaten matches in 2008.

Last week, it was the marquee men that did the job as Glory continued their unbeaten start to the Hyundai A-League 2010/11 season. Mile Sterjovski’s fifth-minute strike got the ball rolling before Robbie Fowler’s second-half goal sealed the win.

Having broken his Perth duck the previous week with an injury-time penalty against Melbourne Heart, it seemed almost inevitable that the goals would start to flow from the former Liverpool legend. With two crucial strikes in the last two matches, the veteran-s hunger for goals is clearly as strong as ever. Not good news for Gold Coast United!

Having already faced two weekend breaks, United have experienced a stuttering start to their Hyundai A-League 2010/11 season. With two draws and one defeat from their three weeks of action so far, it feels like their campaign has yet to really get under way.

However, a decent goalless derby draw at home to fierce rivals Brisbane and a fantastic point in the harshest of conditions in Wellington suggest that United will be no pushovers for Glory.

As Shane Smeltz-s ‘will-he-won-t he- transfer saga finally came to end when he signed for Turkish Super League club Genclerbirligi SK last week, United moved swiftly to replace him by bringing in Qantas Socceroo Bruce Djite until the end of the Hyundia A-League 2010/11 season.

The former Adelaide United striker is set to make his debut against Glory, and will be looking to start his second spell in Australia with a bang as Gold Coast seek their first win of the season.

It-s the tale of two strikers at nib Stadium this Sunday. Will it be Fowler or Djite that comes out on top? It-s time for The Shed to make some serious noise and ensure that it-s a golden afternoon for Glory.
