Paul Kelly resigns from Football West Board

Perth Glory Chief Executive Paul Kelly announced at this morning’s Football West Board meeting that he has resigned as a Director effective immediately.

Perth Glory Chief Executive Paul Kelly announced at this morning-s Football West Board meeting that he has resigned as a Director effective immediately.

Mr Kelly was appointed to the Football West Board in August 2004 and was reappointed for a further four years at the 2008 AGM.

“I have enjoyed my time on the Board and have seen monumental change for the better of the game as a whole,” Kelly said.

“I have no doubt that the current Board, under Bob (Kucera) and Peter-s (CEO Peter Hugg) guidance will take the game forward and claim its rightful place in this State as the greatest sport in the world.”

Football West Chairman, The Honourable Bob Kucera praised Mr Kelly for his positive contribution.

“This morning I reluctantly accepted the resignation of Paul Kelly from the Board of Football West,” said Mr Kucera.

“Paul has now decided that he wants to put all of his efforts into the revival of Perth Glory and he feels that he is unable to split himself between Football West and WA-s A-League team any longer.

“He-s an outstanding contributor and he also has a passion for the game that is unequalled I might say, of anybody I know.”
