The fantastic success of these programmes is keeping Community and Development Manager Callum Salmon on his toes. Working with, and recruiting quality coaches, organising Glory giveaways, and Glory player attendances, as well as taking the ever increasing registrations to the events.
“We are also seeing the same kids coming back time after time to our G4z, which to me is an indication that they are enjoying themselves. Salmon commented “This also means that we need to make it challenging, and evolve the programmes so that these kids continue to grow and develop and importantly continue to have fun.”
“I think it is also very important that we continue to give out free ticket vouchers to the participants – I want to develop an army of junior Glory supporters and I think offering them free tickets to the games and making match day more affordable for parents is an effective method of achieving our goal.”
Parents have been over the moon, especially with the Soccer Schools. With kids taken care of from 8.30am to 3.00pm doing the thing they love best – playing football; it means that school holiday entertainment is taken care of – for at least the 2 days of the Soccer School programme.
“I have 3 boys who all participated in the Soccer School at Melville this week” said Denise Buchanan, “they were with some of their team mates and had a great time, 2 days where I didn-t have bored kids, it was great”!
Susan Wylde agreed;
“I would like to thank Perth Glory for the wonderful experience my son Henry has had the past 2 days at the Gairloch reserve. He truly has had a great time.”
