NPL Preview: Youngsters target win to go third

The PGFC Academy First Team will climb into third place in the NPL WA table should they manage to get the better of Balcatta Etna FC at Crazy Domains Stadium at Hartfield Park this evening (kick-off at 7.30pm).

Last week’s hard-fought draw with Perth SC means the youngsters have now gone three games unbeaten and remain very much in touch with the early-season pace-setters, a feat made all the more impressive by the fact that a host of key players have been unavailable due to A-League call-ups.

Balcatta, meanwhile, have endured a tough start to the campaign, losing all four of their games so far and shipping 19 goals in the process.

Last season’s corresponding fixture ended in a 3-0 win for the Academy First Team, with Adam Zimarino, Josh Anasmo and Bryce Bafford claiming a goal apiece.

The PGFC Academy Under-18s and Under-20s are also both in action this weekend and will be out to extend their impressive 100% starts to the season.

The Under-18s take on Balcatta Etna at Crazy Domains Stadium at 9am on Saturday, followed by the Under-20s at 11am.

Entry to home NPL WA games is free for Glory Members, so do get along and lend the lads your support if you can.
